American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM)

AVAM, located near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is a unique museum dedicated to self-taught and outsider artists whose work blends art, science, humor, and social commentary. The museum presents large thematic exhibitions that celebrate creativity beyond traditional art world boundaries.

AVAM is about 1.1 miles (a 5–10 minute drive) from Hotel Indigo Baltimore Downtown and roughly 2 miles (10–12 minutes by car) from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Visitors can reach the museum by rideshare, taxi, or local bus, and it is also about a 20–25 minute walk from the hotel through downtown toward the Inner Harbor.
