Robyn Phillips-Pendleton

Robyn is a visual storyteller, researcher, curator, designer, and author, and the associate chair, professor, and coordinator of Visual Communications in the University of Delaware’s Department of Art & Design. Her visual work explores the human condition, and her research focuses on illustration and race. She co-curated the “Imprinted: Illustrating Race” exhibition at the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Delaware Art Museum. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Illustrators, NY, and the Board of Trustees of the Norman Rockwell Museum. She was named the 2025 Society of Illustrators’ Distinguished Educator of the Arts, is a member of the International Association of Illustration Academics, serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Illustration, and is a United States Air Force Artist.
